We discussed four properties of addition.
1) Identity Property
Adding 0 to a number does not change the number
--> n +0 = n
2) Inverse Property
The sum of an integer and its inverse will always = 0
--> 4+(-4) = 0 (-b) + b = 0
3) Commutative Property
You can change the order of addends
--> 2 + -3 = -3 + 2
4) Associative Property
You can change the grouping of addends.
--> (2+3) + 4 = 2 + (3+4)
